Recruitment Agency Thailand

Recruitment agency thailand: CREATING CAREERS

People from different cultures feel and think differently. The success of international investors and businesses in Thailand therefore depends largely on the quality of the HR department and the Thai recruitment agency involved. This agency should be involved in the search when it comes to hiring executive staff, middle management and important technical and engineering personnel.

Common pitfalls when looking for a Thai Recruitment Agency

In a survey, almost 80% of the companies surveyed were dissatisfied with both their own HR department and with hired Thai recruitment agencies: the newly recruited employees often remained only for a short time. They did not fit the position, there was a lack of requested skills, or they just quit for the next better paid job.

The simple story is easy to explain. Most Thai job agencies do not work on an exclusive basis. Rather, they collect CVs through contracted “freelancers” who are paid based on the quantity of CVs supplied. “Candidates” procured in this way will then be forwarded to the client for its further decision after only a short check.

These recruitment agencies in Thailand only receive a modest fee if one of the candidates they offer is hired by the client. This is a game of luck if a whole series of agencies approach the same candidates. There simply isn’t time for a professional assessment. You got to be first or lose.

Dissatisfaction with one’s own HR department, on the other hand, often stems from a misunderstanding. HR managers are usually fully occupied with administrative activities. Even if they have relevant education in human resources, cross-cultural aspects play a secondary role in their studies.

So how should an HR manager overloaded with administrative tasks and lacking the appropriate qualifications have the time and experience to select management personnel?

CREATING CAREERS: The executive search firm in Thailand with values

When selecting your recruiting agency in Thailand, there are a few points that are relevant to success. CREATING CAREERS is fully committed to these in its policy:

  • Before we start the active search, we create a detailed requirements profile together with you as our client, defining the expected hard skills and soft skills and a description of the 5 – 10 core tasks. These details then form our “job specification” for the search, which we agree on.
  • The financial framework for a possible recruitment will be defined. We provide advice on appropriate remuneration, on statutory, standard market or discretionary social benefits. We also inform and advise on legal requirements relating to vacation, public holidays and the basic structure of the employment contract.
  • We anticipate exclusivity for the search for an agreed period. For a certain period of time, we need the freedom to take the time and care necessary to select candidates, collect the essential data about the candidates in an initial interview and to present them to you in a “Factual Report”. The in-depth assessment of your pre-selected candidates and our “Executive Summary” then also takes time. Incidentally, it would also give candidates a poor impression if they were approached by several agencies for the same position.
  • To help you make your decision, we provide a comprehensive Executive Summary on the candidates’ personal and professional background, their personality and their successes in professional life. You will learn to understand our statement from the record of a sophisticated catalog of questions & answers that we compile individually for each candidate. We will also be very frank about possible weaknesses that need to be considered when making a decision and provide a recommended course of action for the direct interview.
  • Job applications are not a one-way street. Applicants are applying for a good job, and good companies are applying for good employees. We therefore also advise you on how to present your company in the preliminary interviews.

Great candidates want to know whether their new employer offers a stable future and whether the business culture is “western minded. They want to know how openly they can discuss the goals of the job and make suggestions for improvement. CREATING CAREERS knows how Thai professionals think and will provide suggestions for your company presentation.

We are always happy to provide references from our clients about our work as Thailand Job Agency, and we are equally pleased to arrange a direct and confidential meeting between you and our references.

NOT TO FORGET: Sanet Manpower Co. Ltd. with its brand CREATING CAREERS is licensed by the Thai Ministry of Labor under the “Employment and Job Seeker Protection Act” with the Recruitment License: น.1900/2567.

Time and costs of a search with CREATING CAREERS

A thorough personnel search with CREATING CAREERS as described above usually takes between two and four months. After all, nobody would want to hire an employee that has left his last employer in the lurch without observing the notice period. This in itself can add up to one or two months to the hiring process.

In Thailand, reputable recruitment agencies charge their clients between 25 % and 30 % of the candidate’s final agreed annual salary as a success fee. However, “30%” does not necessarily mean that these agencies are “superior”. The higher price is often explained by the fact that these agencies have to pay a fee to international franchise centers.

Although CREATING CAREERS has an extensive international network, it is free of such charges thanks to its status as an independent Thai recruitment agency within the Sanet Group. We are also happy to agree individual conditions with you via a framework agreement.

We will only charge the full success fee if one of the candidates we present to you will actually be hired. Our clients are therefore free to reject candidates even if they meet the agreed requirements. In return, we charge an or two agreed up-front fee depending on the progress of the project.

Of course, we might also make mistakes together with our clients. That is why we also provide a guarantee during the probationary period, which means that if you or the candidate terminate the contract, we will start a new search at no charge.

As a top Thai recruitment agency, CREATING CAREERS saves costs

With a professional recruiting service, we help you to save considerable costs at the end of the day: Mistakes made when selecting new employees are generally more expensive than any service provided by an executive search agency.

By the time an unsuitable employee is identified as such, usually at least two months’ salary have already been paid during the probationary period. If the employee has worked in Thailand for more than 119 days, they then receive a severance payment and the costs already amount to five months’ salary.

In addition, there must be considered the operational damage that unsuitable employees may cause after a short period of time: Customers are annoyed by poor service, technical equipment in the company comes to a standstill if the maintenance engineer does not have sufficient experience and training. A poorly qualified accountant might cause financial chaos and trouble with the tax authorities in no time at all. All these cases are much more costly for the company than a success fee of, for example, three months’ salary for a competent personnel selection.

A word about headhunting in Thailand

Actual “Headhunting” in the traditional sense means purposefully detaching a particular person from loyalties to their employer, often even for the purpose of switching to a competitor. We at CREATING CAREERS don’t have much of an appreciation for this. We don’t get on the phone to spouses to motivate them into accepting a new job just because a headhunter predicts a golden future for her and her husband.

However, if you are looking for the Top 10 Headhunters in Thailand in terms of a smart and direct approach to selected prospects, then you should turn to CREATING CAREERS.

Our diligent preparation of the search for managers enables us to identify and directly approach a certain number of most likely suitable individuals and to present them with our client’s offer in an assured confidential dialogue.

This approach is made directly by our research department to relevant business circles, via channels such as LinkedIn or by issuing a targeted job offer to pre-researched candidates.

A special feature of CREATING CAREERS, the Thai Recruitment Agency of the Sanet Group in Bangkok, is its own job platform on the website and a monthly overview (subscribe here) of the jobs on offer, which has a proven readership of around 9,000 verified recipients.
