WHU UNIVERSITY: THAILAND AS A PRODUCTION SITE FOR ASIA

The developed country in the heart of Southeast Asia is attracting interest from young German founders.

Thailand as a productionsite was one of the topics of the “Asia Connect Event” organized by the Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU), one of Europe’s leading universities in the field of international business. WHU, also known as the “Founders’ University”, organized the event with presentations by highly qualified experts from various regions of Asia.

The topic “Production in Asia” was addressed by Dr. Gunter Denk, founder of Sanet ASEAN ADVISORS Bangkok, with his presentation “The ASEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY (AEC) and Thailand as Production Hub for Asia and the World”. The presentation was followed by an exciting discussion with the elite students from many parts of Europe and Asia. In addition to the advantages of the region as a production location, topics such as business culture, political framework conditions, state incentives and “local content calculation” as the basis for free trade, were also discussed.

It was particularly pleasing for the Sanet consultants that a number of Zoom conversations took place after the event, for example about specific start-up activities of the prospective entrepreneurs and managers, all of which proved to be interesting and surprisingly concrete.

Some of the students will keep in touch with Sanet, and the first requests for an internship in Thailand have already been received in Bangkok.
